Stranded by the snow
|
On my way back from seeing a bird in the welsh valleys, got to the junction for M4 and two lorries have jackknifed blocking the entrance. All other routes are closed or up steep hols so found a local hotel. Got an upgrade from the reception girls who felt sorry for me. Hardly any cunt here and there is a blizzard outside

Lowest position on the bbc reporting totem pole is obviously the bloke told to drive down to Somerset so that he can report from being stuck in a tailback for 12 hours freezing his bollocks off

I was lucky enough to be in Shanxi Province just below inner Mongolia when China had the coldest winter in living memory hitting -20
I Couldn't get warm even inside the apartment fully clothed in laying bed

I ended up staying in a nice city based hotel last night after struggling in from Brentwood Wednesday morning. Had a meeting on a job today which had been planned for weeks, ended up half settling an account over a meal and a drink in the city. Just got a cab home fairly quick although the side roads the roads are fucked near home. My two youngest kids schools are shut tomorrow and I'm giving work a swerve.Im in construction (concrete frames)Most sites are shut. Looking forward to a day off with the kids as it goes. Can't see the weather getting any better for a day or two yet.The winds howling and it's snowing here.

I went for spliffed up wander along the deserted M4 and came across a poor taffy furiously trying to get up a ramp to no avail. Ended up pushing him all the way up inch by inch and I've never seen anyone so grateful in my life. Silly cunt nearly crashed the car as he drove off shouting out the window I FUCKIN LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOU DUNNO HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU MAN.
There's no cunt for miles around he must have thought I was some sort of guardian angel

Cardiff Blues rugby have already called off their game tomorrow and they play on a synthetic pitch so consideration about spectator safety must have played a part.
I tend to think it will go ahead regardless. I doubt if I will make the trip as on top of the current weather, Greater Anglia once again are not running a service and there is a bus replacement service between Bridgend and Swansea.

Sorry to hear bruno, mate.
Was once in a minivan through the wilds of Saskatchewan on the way to a university debate trip at about this time of year. -20 blowing snow, driver lost all vision after a truck past and we hit the ditch.
No damage just stuck in 10 foot drift and the nearest tow truck was 100km away and was busy. So we had to wait about 6 hours and keep warm.
It was a very co-ed debate society...every cloud..
